THE BCL KROME
ADVANTAGE

BCL KROME grinding media balls are manufactured from cast high-chrome iron using a precisely controlled production process. Every ball delivers consistent hardness from surface to core, optimum chromium carbide distribution, and retained austenite below 5% — eliminating microchipping and ensuring maximum service life in your mill.

All sizes are manufactured as per customer requirement. Our five-grade range covers every application from cement raw mills and coal mills to highly corrosive wet mineral grinding environments.

Surface to core hardness variation held at ±1 RC Max — guaranteed uniform performance throughout the ball's life.
Chromium Carbide Control
Optimum level of Chromium Carbides engineered for maximum wear resistance and minimum material loss per tonne ground.
Retained Austenite <5%
Retained Austenite maintained below 5% — eliminates microchipping and spalling, extending service life significantly.
Air Quenching Process
Air quenching in rotating drums in small 200–250 kg batches ensures uniform cooling and consistent through-section hardness.
Defect-Free Castings
Special gating system ensures castings are completely free from internal defects — verified by non-destructive testing.
Controlled Pouring
200 kg ladle pouring minimises pouring temperature difference between first and last mould — uniform grain structure and consistent quality throughout every batch.
CO² Sand Moulding
100% Special CO² sand moulding process ensures perfect dimensional accuracy and complete freedom from sand inclusion.
Zone-Wise Heat Treatment
Multi-zone temperature controlled heat treatment furnace with precise temperature recording delivers repeatable metallurgical properties in every batch.
